Hi again.
So this is the plan:
I'll be posting 12 AMAZING DIY Christmas ideas starting the 1st of December.
Up until then I'll be posting:
1. A list of must read books for all those readers out there like me (and when I say MUST READ I  mean must read. Not "You just have to read this" and then you hate it. No. There will be something for everyone).
2. A shocking display of statistics (oOooh... No, really. It won't be boring. Just take a look. The topic Is a surprise).
3. The. Most. DELICIOUS cinnabon recipe EVER - with pictures from my batch :-D - (tired of paying 20 bucks for a cinnabon? Make 20 of your own for under R100. They taste like the real deal - or dare I say better?)

Monday 23 December 2013

Hihi!
This morning, for some insane reason, my best friend and I were up at 7 AM. We walked down to the kitchen and saw my mother exercising outside. She did sit ups, lunges, weights and a whole lot of other terrifying things. Then I said: "Wow, exercising must be great..." And we both burst out laughing at such an absurd thought. I mean... her face was contorting in pain and she didn't look like she was having fun. Kinda like this:

Seeee??? This is why my friend and I sat there, shoving pancakes into our mouth holes, staring at my mom and wondering... Why? And I know what you're thinking. "Wow, StrawberrySwirled is like, totes lazy and stuff." Well, excuse me Mister, but do you have any idea how long the hallway in my house is? I burn 2 kilo's walking from my room to the kitchen every morning!

A few days ago my friend and I went to Smooch, our, like, totes fave frozen yoghurt place. :-P
And whenever we go there, we're bound to see the 2 skinny/pouty/bleachblonde/coo girls, squirting the tiniest amount of Smooch into their cups and sitting down all hair-flippy like. Seriously?
If you don't want frozen yoghurt, then WHY ARE YOU HERE?

Aaaaannnnyyyywaayyy, seeing as it is rather late... I'm going to hit the sack. Nighty night!

Christmas!!!
Absolutely without a doubt my favourite time of year. The festive cookies, the beautiful tree and decorations, being on holiday with the family, the presents and just the general feeling of Christmas.
I've got so many Christmassy ideas and I need somewhere to put them, so...

   1. Recipes
the most christmassy dessert I can think of is trifle. I make it  every christmas. I got this recipe from taste.com.au
christmas trifle
ingredients
    Christmas trifle
  • 4 x 85g packets strawberry jelly
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 x 800g light fruit cake, cut into 3cm cubes
  • 2 tablespoons brandy (optional)
  • 2 cups double thick vanilla custard
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 125g fresh strawberries, hulled, sliced
  • 300ml thickened cream
  • 1 teaspoon icing sugar mixture, sifted
  • 50g white chocolate, grated fresh raspberries and hulled, quartered strawberries, to decorate
 method
Place jelly crystals in a heatproof bowl. Add boiling water. Stir to dissolve crystals. Stir in 400ml cold water. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until just starting to set (it should have a thick, syrupy consistency).

Arrange cake in a 13 cup-capacity serving bowl. Drizzle with brandy, if using. Spoon half the jelly over top. Top with custard. Sprinkle with raspberries and strawberries. Spoon remaining jelly over top. Refrigerate, covered, overnight.

Using an electric mixer, beat cream and sugar in a bowl until soft peaks form. Fold through chocolate. Spoon mixture over trifle. Top with raspberries and strawberry quarters. Serve. You could use leftover fruit cake or pudding in this trifle. Pauls Double Thick custard is twice as thick as pouring custard, and ideal for the whole family. Check out the handy resealable pack for recipe suggestions. You could replace brandy with orange juice. Top trifle with grated chocolate.

    2. Gift Ideas
For mom: of course, everyone is different. But I'm sure
most  moms will love something for their kitchen, which they'd probably use everyday. A few cute things that I'd get for my mom are: 1. Gravity grinder.
     2. Multi-blade herb scissors.
     3. Anything Le Creuset!
For dad: my dad would love some new tools or anything gadgety.
For your sis: all little girls would love:
1. Lego Friends
2. Barbie or Monster High dolls
3. Leap Pad Ultra
For your bro: all little boys would love:
1. Hotwheels cars and track
2. Bakugan
3. Lego tranformers

3. Christmassy decor!
I love these ideas:
1. Christmas stencils and spray. (this goes on windows and mirrors and is really cute.)
2. Wreaths are really pretty and festive on doors.
3. Poinsettias are beautiful and are the typical christmas flower.
4. Christmas lights hanging from roofs and window frames even put passers-by into the christmassy mood!

Merry Christmas and a happy new year! :-)

Yes, possibly one of the most wonderful things man has ever created. I sit for hours playing it and it never gets old! The newest two expansion packs are Island Paradise, and Into The Future. Google calls it "a strategic life simulation video game"... But oh, it is much more than that. Observe:

Build anything...

Create anyone...

Do anything...

Here are the two new ones that I'm DYING to get:

There are, of course, LOADS of others, but these have just taken the Sims to a whole new level... Observe:

 Island Paradise:

 <Relax at a resort

<Prepare a rustic
dinner at your beach home

 <Fancy a swim as a mermaid?

Into The Future:

             Create the ultimate future home>

                  Holograms are all the rage>

And Plumbots are at your service>

Well, there you have it. My FAVOURITE PC game in a nutshell.

Please excuse me while I "do my homework..." ;-)
